Here’s a continuation of our pose guide! Have you been needing a good list of poses for individual shots? Maybe you’ve been needing poses that’ll get your clients to laugh and have fun!
Well, this post has Anna’s top 10 individual poses for any photoshoot that will make for some amazing photos! There are poses for both males and females, but all of the photos are of females…for now (sorry boys!).
1. The Smolder
Ask your client to give you their best smolder or “model face.”
2. The Spin
Have your client spin in circles!
3. The Strut
Have the client walk towards the camera in a straight line – one foot in front of the other. Tell them to act like they are struting on a red carpet or down a runway.
4. The Jacket
Have your client grab their jacket with both hands. Clothing is so fun to work with, so use it to take your photo to the next level!
5. The Hair Twirl
Start your client off in a crouching position or folding her arms while standing. Bring one hand to their hair to twirl and gently pull it while the other hand goes to their ear, around their waist, or around the knees.
6. The Daydream
Ask your client to think of what they daydream about, and then have them tell you about it!
7. The Meditator
Turn their back away from you, tilt head, and have them close their eyes like they’re doing yoga/sleeping/meditating. Exhale. This is a good stress relieving pose!
Or have them actually do yoga!

8. The Hair Flip
For a fun movement shot have your client flip their hair back and forth, side to side, and upside down. This can also help lighten the mood if the client is feeling nervous or shy about being in front of the camera.
10. Action Shots
Have your client dance or jump in the air – get that action shot! Let them roam around and be free! Capture them in those fun, candid moments. It usually makes them giggle, too.
Bonus if you get them in the air!
BONUS! Props
Have your client bring props for their photos! It can be a uniform, toys & gadgets, foods, a car, etc. This can help lighten the mood and make your client feel comfortable. This is crucial for seniors because it gives them a chance to showcase their hobbies, talents, likes, and interests.
