A photographer’s backpack is always unique to the photographer. I will show you what’s in my backpack and include why I love the gear I have.
I also want to preface this with the fact that the equipment of a photographer is purely a compliment to their skills. The equipment is not a determinant in the success of a photographer.
You could own the most basic gear and still create outstanding photographs.
You could own the highest tech, high-end gear and produce pretty mediocre photos.
That’s the beauty of art. The art is created not by the tools, but by the artist herself.
So, take what I say and use it for yourself, but also, remember that you are the creator of your photos. Your photos become your piece of art because of your style and personality. If you focus on telling your story, you will be successful and create the beautiful photos you dream of.
With that being said, here’s a list of what’s in my backpack, organized by what I use the most to least!

Canon 35mm 1.4f II – MY ALL TIME FAVE!
Canon 24-70mm 2.8f Mark I – Mainly used for weddings or when I need a super wide-angle
Flash – Speedlite 850X – I only bring this to receptions that are indoors and the occasional creative shoot
Diffuser and Bouncer – From MagMod

- Canon 6D Camera Charger
- Double AA batteries for flash
Computer
- MacBook Air Laptop 2018 (I have an iMac Desktop and it’s the greatest thing since homemade smoothies, but I do not bring that in my backpack).
- My laptop charger
Extras
- Fruit snacks
- First Aid Kit
- Chapstick
And that, my friends, is what is in my camera bag! Please contact me if you have more questions about my gear!
