Here are the top 5 senior photo tips in featuring senior photos with pics from from Utah to California!
Top 5 Senior Photo Tips
1. Choose the Right Outfit
Opt for outfits that not only complement your personal style but also suit the outdoor setting you choose.
Girls – flowy dresses, light-colored clothing, and breathable fabrics like cotton or linen are perfect for capturing the essence of outdoor vibes.
Boys – Tees to button-ups, shorts or jeans, something comfy, and cuffed.
Consider bringing layers if the wind picks up or it gets cold as the sun sets.
2. Consider the Time of Day
Lighting plays a crucial role in photography. I’m looking at it a week in advance for our shoots, at the least!
For soft, flattering light and minimal shadows, aim to schedule your photoshoot during the golden hour—typically an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset. This magical time of day creates a warm, dreamy glow that will enhance the beauty of your photos.
For harsh, dramatic shoots choose mid-day!
*NOTE! We can reschedule if the weather is unreasonable on the day of your shoot!
3. Mind Your Hair and, if applicable, Makeup:
Opt for hairstyles that can withstand the ocean breeze, such as loose waves or a simple updo.
As for makeup, go for a fresh, dewy look that enhances your features without appearing too heavy.
Don’t forget to bring along some touch-up products for any mid-shoot adjustments.
You can bring hairspray, although with the wind always amidst us, most people don’t mind just letting your hair flow. Plus – it adds movement and body to our photos which is KEY!
4. Accessorize Thoughtfully
Accessories can add personality and visual interest to your photos, but it’s essential to choose them thoughtfully.
Consider incorporating accessories like statement sunglasses, delicate anklets, or bohemian-inspired jewelry to enhance your overall look without overpowering it.
Remember, less is often more when it comes to accessorizing for a senior photoshoot.
5. Relax and Have Fun!
Above all, remember to relax and enjoy the experience! Senior photos are about capturing genuine moments and celebrating this exciting chapter of your life.
Embrace the moment, let your personality shine, and trust that I’ll capture your unique personality.
PRO TIP! If you feel comfortable, bring a fan club to support. Your mom, dad, siblings, or best friend. I’ve also had people bring their furry friends – totally acceptable!
The more relaxed and authentic you are, the more memorable and meaningful your photos will be.
By following these top 5 tips, you’ll be well-prepared to make the most of your senior photos.
Soak up the sun, embrace the magic of the moment.
Until next time!
